Jay Gruden stresses a Brandon Scherff extension is a priority

Jay Gruden didn’t hold back when talking about his Washington Redskins at the scouting combine.

Granted, he didn’t address anything wild like the trade rumors involving Antonio Brown.

But Gruden did hit on a point quite critical to longtime Redskins fans, saying a Brandon Scherff extension is in the plans:

Scherff only has one year left on his current deal, though there wasn’t any doubt the Redskins wouldn’t let his time with the team run out.

One of the best outright linemen in the NFL, Scherff is only 27 years old. He missed eight games last year — but otherwise missed two over the course of three seasons.

Though the rumor mill suggests massive moves for the Redskins, this one is more down to Earth — if not more important, too.
