Jay Gruden still has no idea when the team will see Trent Williams this season

The roster has been cut, and Week 1 of the NFL regular season is finally here. Yet, there is still no sign of Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams.

Williams — who has been holding out since this spring — has stayed silent over the past months as the team has tried to get him to come back to the team while being vehement that they will not trade him to another squad.

Fans in Washington have hoped to see their veteran lineman return before Week 1, but that is now in doubt with Williams still nowhere to be found, and no news coming out on the subject.

The Redskins set their 53-man roster on Sunday, but if Williams were to announce his return, they would surely shuffle some things around to make him fit. At this point, Washington has to be willing to do nearly anything to get the seven-time pro bowler back with the team as they prepare for a tough opening stretch in the NFC East.
