Jay Gruden says Redskins don’t have plan at QB for game vs. Patriots

The Washington Redskins apparently don’t have a plan at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.

That’s what every fan wants to hear, right?

According to coach Jay Gruden, the team has not yet picked a starter for their date with the defending Super Bowl champions, and there is not yet any word on when a decision will be made. While both Case Keenum and Dwayne Haskins played last week against the New York Giants, neither inspired any confidence going forward.

That brings us to Colt McCoy, who is finally looking to be at full health after breaking his leg in 2018. There hasn’t been official word yet that McCoy will be activated for this week’s game, but all signs point toward that. If McCoy is good to go, he will likely get the nod by default.

Gruden says that they don’t have a plan, but I’d argue otherwise. It sounds like the Redskins have several plans that they could go with; it’s just a matter of choosing the right one.

Time to make the choice, Jay, and while you’re at it, maybe choose a more optimistic way to tell the media that you haven’t chosen a starter.
