Jay Gruden praises the health of his offensive line in attendance to start camp

Jay Gruden is happy with the health of his offensive line as his Washington Redskins start training camp.

Those in attendance, that is, as Trent Williams won’t be there thanks to the contract dispute and health-related issues between him and the team.

But when it comes to Brandon Scherff, Morgan Moses and Chase Roullier, Gruden likes what he sees, per Kyle Stackpole of Redskins.com:

Gruden on OL: Said Brandon Scherff and Morgan Moses are in the best shape on their lives, while Chase Roullier also looks strong coming off of offseason surgery.

Neither of those guys made it out of last season unscathed in one way or another, even if the game count said 16. Moses had been battling nagging issues and Schreff missed a large chunk of time — he’s also looking for a new deal.

All three will play key roles for the Redskins in 2019. Roullier has been a surprise breakout in the middle of the line and if Moses isn’t playing like his usual self, the right edge could have a big problem alongside the budding issue on the left side.

Of course, the Redskins would love to have Williams in camp too. But at this stage, having three key pieces at 100 percent is a win.
