Jay Gruden feels ‘very strongly’ that the Redskins will not trade Trent Williams

Another week has gone by, and there is still no news about Redskins left tackle Trent Williams, and his holdout from the team.

The holdout began this spring and has lasted through the summer. As the regular season fast approaches and time starts to run thin, no news is bad news in this situation.

There are several thoughts about what the Redskins might do, and there have been several rumors that Washington would consider trading Willimas, a seven-time pro bowler. It was even quipped that the New England Patriots had offered a first-round draft pick for the soon-to-be 31-year-old, but that has not been confirmed.

On Monday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden was adamant that Washington doesn’t plan to follow that plan of action.

Gruden can feel as strongly as he likes, in the end, it is Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder who would make the ultimate decision. It was added on Monday morning that Williams is reportedly healthy and ready to play, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

At this point, everything is just speculation until some hard news comes out. But the clock is ticking, and you can bet that they’re starting to feel the pressure in Washington.
