Jay Gruden expects Trent Williams to return for Training Camp

The bulk of spring training sessions is coming to a close, and there has still been no sign of LT Trent Williams, one of the best players on the Washington Redskins.

In the past weeks, much has been made about the reasons for Williams’ absence, be it a contract dispute or medical injustices. What has mattered in the past is the team president Bruce Allen says he “knows the truth” about the situation, and what matters now is that Redskins coach Jay Gruden has confidence moving forward.

There are players in the locker room that are close to Williams and say that they have no reason to believe he will not be around come Training Camp, which starts on July 25. The Pro Bowl left tackle has two years left on his contract and deserves to be one of the highest paid linemen in the league, which he no longer is.

Whatever the Redskins need to do in order to get Williams back, be in shelling out more cash or scolding their team doctors, they will likely do it. Or so Gruden thinks, at least.
