Jay Gruden anticipates even rep split for QBs to start camp

The quarterback battle for the Washington Redskins is just getting started.

Meeting with the press before camp begins this weak, Redskins head coach Jay Gruden made it clear Colt McCoy, Case Keenum and Dwayne Haskins will all get fair looks.

Kyle Stackpole of the team’s official website caught what Gruden had to say:

Gruden said he feels confident in each of the three quarterbacks (McCoy, Haskins, Keenum).

He added that for the most part, the reps will be split between the three to start start

The darkhorse here has to be McCoy, simply because he doesn’t have as much hype as the other two and his injury made him an unknown. But he does have the advantage of knowing the offense and environment better.

But the fact the Redskins traded for Keenum says quite a bit about the situation. Haskins will naturally get a shot too, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see one of the guys set themselves apart quickly and alter what will supposedly start as an even split.
