Jay from Jay and Silent Bob is coming to Bristol and here's how you can see him on stage

If you were a teenager in the 90s, you'll know who Jay and Silent Bob are.

Icons of the decade, the fictional duo appeared in cult Kevin Smith classics including Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma.

And this month, one half of the pair is bringing his stand-up comedy show to Bristol.

Jason Mewes, who played Jay alongside Kevin Smith's Silent Bob, is heading to the Winston Theatre at the Bristol Students' Union building on May 21.

Jason is best known as the potty-mouthed vocal half of Jay and Silent Bob. In stark contrast to his best mate (who, true to his name, seldom says anything), Jay speaks frequently and rudely and often treats people with disrespect or hostility, including Silent Bob.

The on-screen comedic duo first appeared in Kevin Smith's seminal 1994 indie film Clerks. Mewes would reprise the character five more times on the big screen from 1995 to 2006, becoming a poster boy for mid-90s low budget film.

He now hosts an award-winning podcast called Jay & Silent Bob Get Old, where for nearly seven years, he has told the story of his tumultuous life on stage every week.

He brings his stand-up act to Bristol on Tuesday, May 21, with two shows at 7pm and 9.30pm. You can book tickets here.
