Jay Ajayi cleared by doctors: 3 teams that make sense

Jay Ajayi is a talented running back who’s still only 26 years old, yet the free agent ball carrier has spent the bulk of the offseason trying to secure a deal. Ajayi suffered a torn ACL last October, ruining his market in free agency,T and he only secured one visit thus far, with the Colts several weeks ago.

Hoping to dispel any notion that he’s not healthy, Adam Schefter is reporting that Ajayi has been given a clean bill of health.

Ajayi averaged 5.1 yards per carry in 11 games with the Eagles over the past two seasons and would make sense for several teams.

1. Colts

Ajayi is familiar with head coach Frank Reich and would provide a nice one-two punch with Marlon Mack.

2. Texans

Lamar Miller ad D’Onta Foreman are talented backs who’ll wow you at times but can also deal with injuries at times. Ajayi would provide a nice change of pace in Houston.

3. Chargers

With Melvin Gordon holding out in LA, Ajayi could provide value if Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson either get injured or aren’t producing early.
