Javier Hernandez ends West Ham stay with £8m Sevilla move

West Ham have cashed in on Javier Hernandez by letting the striker join Sevilla in a deal worth up to £8m.

The Mexico international had just 10 months remaining on his contract and handed in a transfer request last week.

West Ham will reportedly bank up to £8million, for a player signed for twice that two years ago, of which £1m is dependent on performances.

Standard Sport reported in June that Chicharito was keen to secure a return to Spain after Valencia failed to finalise a deal in January.

Chicharito also had interest from Major League Soccer but prefered to stay in Europe. New MLS franchise Austin FC were keen on the former Manchester United player but they do not join the league until 2021.

The 31-year-old featured in West Ham's opening two games of the season, scoring when starting against Brighton on August 17, but has not featured since.

Hernandez leaves the London Stadium having made 61 appearances, scoring 17 goals.
