PHILADELPHIA _ Javier Baez led a three-home run attack Sunday by hitting his 30th homer that also accounted for his 100th RBI as the Cubs rolled to an 8-1 win over the Phillies and Aaron Nola at Citizens Bank Park,.
Baez smacked a 1-2 pitch off Nola with one out in the sixth that landed in the seats in left center, one pitch after missing an opposite field home run.
Baez became the fifth Cubs player to hit 30 home runs and drive in 100 runs in a season before or in their age 25 season, joining Ernie Banks, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Ron Santo.
Baez also became the first player in Cubs history to hit 30 home runs, five triples, steal 20 bases and drive in 100 runs.
Daniel Murphy hit a solo home run with two out in the third, and Anthony Rizzo hit a homer to lead off the fourth against Nola, who had a 2.10 ERA and had allowed only eight home runs in his previous 27 starts.
This marked the first time Nola allowed three home runs in a game since Sept. 14, 2015.
Baez sparked a four-run eighth with a triple. Ian Happ highlighted the rally with a two-run double.
Triples by Kyle Schwarber, Happ and Baez marked the first time the Cubs accomplished this feat since April 24, 2002.
Jon Lester allowed three hits in the first, including a double to Roman Quinn. But left fielder Kyle Schwarber retrieved the ball and made a strong, one-hop throw to nail Quinn at third.
Lester scattered five hits in the next five innings, and he didn't walk a batter.
The Cubs open a three-game series Monday at National League Central rival Milwaukee.
