Javi Gracia responds to recruitment question amid summer of uncertainty

Javi Gracia says he is not paying attention to recruitment in the summer transfer window, and insists his main focus is to keep Leeds United in the Premier League.

Leeds appointed the Spaniard on a 'flexible contract' when he succeeded Jesse Marsch in February, and his future beyond the end of the season remains uncertain.

Gracia has collected three wins from seven in the Premier League, but saw his side sink to 16th following a 5-1 defeat against Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Whites sit just two points clear of danger as it stands, and Gracia claims he has no room to focus on his future at the club.

"When you ask me about the future in many press conferences, I always try to explain that I don't want to speak about that," Gracia said.

He added: "I want to be honest with the club, I want to be honest with everybody, and for me, the future is the Liverpool game. Then after that, speaking about players in the future, it's not job in this moment.

"I prefer to focus on my job. It's really tough to try and take over the best of these players, with the difficulties we have with injured players, and try to give our best and compete.

"After that, we will see what happens. We have time to speak about all these things. I don't want to speak about the future, I prefer to be honest, and to speak what is really important, which is the next game."
