Javelin champion backs Bexley paper's campaign

Olympic javelin thrower Steve Backley has thrown his weight behind the Bexley Times's campaign to save an accident and emergency department at Queen Mary's hospital. The athlete, who lives in Chislehurst, recalled that he was taken to the hospital aged eight after being injured in a car crash. One of his own children has been treated twice by the A&E department.
