Dez Bryant to the Green Bay Packers?
Don't rule it out. Jason Witten, the longtime Dallas Cowboys tight end turned Monday Night Football analyst, predicted that is where Bryant will play in 2018.
"I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers," said Witten, appearing on The Adam Schefter Podcast. "I think that's a great spot for him. Aaron Rodgers, he throws that back-shoulder throw so well, and Dez (can have) great chemistry with a good quarterback that can put the ball wherever he wants."
Bryant remains one of the biggest names on the free-agent market after the Cowboys cut him last month. Bryant reportedly turned down an offer from the Baltimore Ravens, but other suitors haven't emerged.
Bryant stated a desire to stay within the NFC East shortly after his release, but a possible marriage with the Packers makes sense.
As Witten said, Rodgers is arguably the top quarterback in the league and will find ways to get Bryant the ball. Bryant has regressed since signing a five-year extension with the Cowboys before the 2015 season, failing to reach the 1,000-yard mark and double-digit touchdowns in the past three seasons.
But the Cowboys' all-time leader in receiving touchdowns is still a jump-ball threat in the end zone, and teams are always looking for more ways to score.
Of course, the underlying storyline if Bryant ends up going to Green Bay is the infamous catch/no catch in the 2014 divisional round.
Other teams listed among the favorites to land Bryant, according to Bovada, include the Houston Texans, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots.
