Jason Taylor surprises Dolphins superfan with trip to the Hall of Fame

It’s been a pretty busy stretch for former Miami Dolphin Jason Taylor. Last week, Taylor helped induct Dan Marino into the Jason Taylor Foundation Community Hall of Fame. His latest act? Taylor helped surprise two Miami superfans with an all expenses paid trip to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

The gesture is part of a campaign by Johnson Controls ahead of this year’s Enshrinement Week in Canton — Taylor spoke briefly about the significance of a surprise at his front door when finding out he would be inducted and how it is now his turn to return the favor.

Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a first-ballot choice in 2017, becoming the 9th player in Miami Dolphins history to get that knock at the door. Including legendary coach Don Shula, Taylor was the 10th inductee for the Dolphins. The early returns on seeing the 11th inductee aren’t promising, although former Dolphins middle linebacker Zach Thomas certainly deserves the call to Canton based on his dominant presence as a part of many good Miami defenses.

For the two superfans going this summer courtesy of Taylor and Johnson Controls, seeing the busts of all the greatest of Miami Dolphins will have to be enough.
