Jason Peters’ new deal is worth up to $10M with $5.5M guaranteed

The Philadelphia Eagles signed Jason Peters to a one-year deal on Monday and it’s clear the respect between the player and the team is mutual. The future Hall of Fame left tackle restructured his contract for the good of the organization. Per Jeff McLane, Peters’ deal will pay him a max value of $10 million with only $5.5 million guaranteed.

The Eagles had a team option that they had to exercise by March 12, or Peters would have become a free agent. Peters was originally scheduled to count for $10,666,668 on the cap in 2019. Now, by returning to the team in 2019, the Eagles can give Jordan Mailata another year to develop.
