Jason Momoa wore a vest to the Golden Globes and delighted the internet in the process

The Golden Globes might inspire thoughts of old school Hollywood glamour, but one guest wasn’t quite ready to abandon all remnants of their daily life.

Aquaman and Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa was in attendance with his wife Lisa Bonet and the couple looked suitably dapper as they posed on the red carpet on Sunday night.

But once they were inside and the drinks (and vegan meals) started flowing, it seems the room may have become a little stuffy as Momoa removed his jacket to reveal… a vest.

Yes, that’s correct. The 40-year-old actor attended the first big bash of awards season 2020 in a vest - and he’s the only man who could get away with it.

Fans watching the ceremony (which was only aired on TV in the US) soon spotted his interesting sartorial choice and delightedly tweeted about the garment:

So where was his jacket? One eagle-eyed viewer pointed out that Momoa had given it to his wife:

While Momoa wasn’t nominated for any accolades this time around, he announced the winners of the Best Supporting TV Actress and Best Actress in a TV Drama categories alongside his stepdaughter, Zoe Kravitz.

The event marked a big night for British talent as stars including Sir Sam Mendes, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Taron Egerton walked away with prizes.

Waller-Bridge’s speech - in which she thanked Barack Obama - was one of the highlights of the evening and speaking backstage after her win, she announced plans to auction the trouser suit she was wearing in aid of the Australian bushfire efforts.
