Jason Mitchell of ‘The Chi’ loses MTV award nomination after misconduct allegations

The actor already had lost his jobs on the Showtime series as well as a Netflix movie.

“The Chi” actor Jason Mitchell, who has been losing jobs after allegations of misconduct, on Wednesday was dropped as a nominee for an MTV Movie & TV Award.

Variety reports that he was removed from competition for the best performance in a show, and an MTV spokesperson said the deletion was “in light of recent developments.”

A week after the MTV nominations were announced May 14, news broke that Mitchell would not be appearing as Brandon on Season 3 of Showtime’s Chicago-based “The Chi.” He had been accused of misconduct on the set of “Desperados,” a Netflix film from which he also was dropped.
