Jason Manford showered with support as he shares 'heartbreaking' family health update

Jason Manford has been showered with support after he admitted his latest family update was 'heartbreaking'. Last month the comedian shared how his Nana had been taken into hospital.

He explained on social media at the time that after packing for a trip, he was promptly rushed away to care for his beloved grandmother. "Was packing for a holiday 3 hours ago and now in Wythenshawe A&E with Nana Manford!" the 41-year-old shared at the time. "Staff have been incredible & at 99 she is being an absolute trooper! Come on Nana, we gotta get to 100!"

The Salford-born star then later shared an update, saying: "Shes doing well in hospital and much better than yesterday! Phew. Was a long worrying night but staff were great & she’s more herself! Thanks for all your lovely messages, we enjoyed reading through them during the night."

But Jason, 41, has now sadly revealed Nana Manford, 99, is no longer eating as she remains in hopsital. He posted an emotional update to his Instagram where he posted pictures of his family around his nan's bedside and said the situation was "heartbreaking", reports WalesOnline.

"I know a lot of you have been asking about Nana Manford and how she is doing. She loves that when I tell her. Unfortunately she’s still in hospital,2 he wrote. "Everyone is doing everything they can to get her home but she’s just stopped eating (even when given a box of her favourite chocolates for Mother’s Day!) not sure why, she says she wants to come home, knows that eating will help this, but for whatever reason, maybe her dementia, she just won’t eat.

"It’s heartbreaking if I’m honest, especially to see my dad upset. But we’re staying strong as a family, lots of laughs and spent more time than was necessary rubbing hand cream into those 99-year-old hands. My auntie Sharon has gone above and beyond as a daughter too and has been an inspiration to us all."

He then added: "Thanks again for all your kindness in your messages." And Jason and his family was again flooded with supportive messages. Singer and Starstruck co-star Beverly Knight said: "Huge love my Jase. Love to Nana." West End star Ruthie Henshall commented: "So much love."

@the_tigress69 wrote: "Dear Jason, I do hope your Nana starts eating again soon, and starts to feel better x you, your Nana and your family are in my thoughts and prayers x." @marianne.rid1 replied: "So sorry to hear this @jasonmanford. Going through something very similar with my Gran - the war generation are tough though, I’m rooting for them both."

@mason.linda1962 shared: "Jason, this post really tugged at my heart strings, I can really sense the love you all share for your Nanna and I'm sure she does too." @natskyw added: "Nan’s are so precious, like you I am lucky enough to have mine still with us. Cherish and truly hope Nana Manford gets well soon."
