Jason Lokilo makes admission after Crystal Palace's draw at home with Leeds United in U23 clash

Jason Lokilo admits that Crystal Palace’s young players must improve their communication with each other and the coaches after a 0-0 draw with Leeds United.

Palace’s U23 side were frustrated at Selhurst Park as they failed to break down Leeds, despite having plenty of good opportunities to break the deadlock.

That included a penalty that was taken by Nya Kirby and saved by Illan Meslier, who had a superb game in goal for Leeds and made several good saves to deny the Eagles .

And Lokilo, who himself had a free kick that hit the post and was denied by Meslier on more than one occasion, said there were things for Palace to work on.

“We have to talk and improve the talking between us and the coaches, they are good in the dressing room, they said ‘boys, keep talking to each other on the pitch’. I don’t think it happened in the second half, but I am a bit disappointed, I thought we deserved to get three points,” he said, speaking after the game to Palace TV.

“I don’t know what happened in the second half, they [Leeds] came back on the pitch with hunger, and wanting to score.

“We didn’t quite match their runs, but they are a good side, and we will go again next week.

“We are going to try to improve on the pitch and be focused in every game that we are going to play.
