Jason Leitch ‘enormously grateful’ after getting coronavirus vaccine and urges other Scots to follow

Professor Jason Leitch has received the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine after months of leading Scotland through the pandemic.

The National Clinical Director for the Scottish Government was seen at the NHS Louisa Jordan in Glasgow on Friday.

Mr Leitch tweeted: “Thank you to optometrist Uzair and everyone at the NHS Louisa Jordan at the SECC Glasgow.

“From invention, research, manufacture, procurement and distribution to my arm. I am enormously grateful. Please get yours when offered.”

As of April 10, a whopping 2.6 million Scots had received their first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19.

More than 550,000 have now also received their second dose.

Since the start of the pandemic, 221,431 Scots have tested positive for coronavirus while 7630 have sadly died from the bug.
