Jason Kipnis helped some Indians fans with a pregame gender reveal

Josh and Erica Smith went to Sunday’s Indians-Mariners game with a fantastic idea for their gender reveal. The couple was expecting their first child, and they wanted to see if the Cleveland Indians could help out with the reveal.

That was when Jason Kipnis stepped up to offer a hand … and his bat.

Before the game, Kipnis jogged out to the couple’s seats down the left-field line and was admittedly nervous about messing up the reveal. He introduced himself, got into his batting stance and asked Josh to throw an underhand toss towards him.

There was no gender-reveal blooper here — Kipnis did his part to perfection.

It’s a girl!

As far as gender reveals go, that was pretty epic.

Kipnis gifted the Smith family with his bat and posed for a photo (while still covered in pink chalk).

They’ll definitely have a story to share for years to come.
