Jason Garrett went to check on Dak Prescott after a serious leg injury

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury during Sunday’s game against the Giants, leaving the field on a cart and holding back tears.

Prescott scrambled to pick up extra yardage in the second half, and as Logan Ryan made the tackle, Prescott’s ankle buckled while getting caught underneath Logan’s leg.

It was immediately clear that Prescott had suffered a significant injury. As players from both teams dropped to their knees out of concern, a familiar face on the Giants sideline — former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett — made his way to check on Prescott.

Garrett, now serving as the Giants offensive coordinator, stood alongside new Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy to console Prescott.

This was the scene as Prescott left the field.

Prescott entered this season under the franchise tag for the second straight year, and with free agency looming this coming offseason, a serious injury could have huge implications for Prescott’s future. It’s just awful.

Let’s hope Dak makes a full and speedy recovery.
