Jason Cummings shows his confidence with Liverpool quip after deadly double

He's someone who knows a thing or two about cup success and Jason Cummings was on fire again.

The former Hibs hero helped end 114 years of pain when they won the Scottish Cup in 2016 and he helped Shrewsbury grab a draw with Liverpool in the FA Cup today.

It was a 2-2 draw and Cummings grabbed both goals as the League One outfit fought back to take the Premier League giants to an Anfield replay.

The first was a well taken penalty before he beat his man and struck into the bottom corner for the second and sent the fans wild.

A pitch invasion happened at the end as they celebrated the draw and Cummings was loving life.

He started on the bench but showed his confidence and lived up to his dressing room joker reputation in his post match interview.

When asked could it have gone any better he quipped: "Aye I could have got a hat-trick.

"Two goals is a dream come true against the best team in the world, I know it wasn’t their first team but it’s still good for us. Take the replay and go to Anfield. It’s what the FA Cup is all about."

Cummings was in the mood for a laugh after the result and continued having a joke when told that BBC pundit Ian Wright had tipped him to be a hero in the second half as he admitted he wasn't bothered about being benched because of his fitness.

He replied: "Ian Wright knows his stuff. Voted for him every week in I’m a Celeb.

"Nah I’m delighted personally, but for the boys I’m delighted as well because they’ve worked hard for it."

"I was expecting it. My fitness isn’t fully there, I was expecting to come off the bench and I was just delighted to get on and make an impact.

"It’ll be good for the fans,  good for the chairman as well to make a few quid, we’re all delighted and can’t wait to get there."
