Jason Cummings sent home from Dundee training after breaching club rules with Open Goal live attendance

Striker Jason Cummings has been sent home from Dundee training after a breach of discipline.

Cummings attended the Open Goal live event at the Hydro in Glasgow on Thursday night.

However, he did not have permission from manager James McPake to attend the event.

Several audience tweeted that they had seen Cummings at the packed live show.

The former Hibs and Rangers hitman reported for training on Friday morning, but was sent home ahead of the clash with Hearts on Saturday.

Club officials will now deal with the incident on Monday and then decide what action is to be taken against the 26-year-old.

Dundee sit just two points off the bottom of the table after successive defeats to Ross County and Hibs and face a major fight for survival this season.

The 26-year-old has netted three goals so far this season but hasn't scored since October.

Thousands attended the live version of the podcast, hosted by ex-Celtic midfielder Si Ferry.

Former Hearts striker Kevin Kyle and Dundee United defender Charlie Mulgrew also appeared at the event on stage.

Cummings is the latest Dundee player to make the headlines recently, as captain Charlie Adam has also been charged for an alleged drink driving offence.
