Jason Cummings in shock Dundee transfer as former Hibs and Rangers striker seals Scottish football return

Former Hibs and Rangers striker Jason Cummings has made a surprise move to Championship side Dundee.

The Scotland cap had been playing in English League One with Shrewsbury but after struggling to hold down a regular starting spot returns north of the border.

The 25-year-old has penned at deal at Dens Park until the summer of 2022 to work under former Hibees teammate James McPake.

Cummings was prolific during his time at Easter Road scoring 71 times in 149 appearances as Hibs achieved promotion to the Premiership and won the Scottish Cup in 2016.

He made south with Nottingham Forest, but returned to Scotland with a during a short loan spell at Rangers.

Cummings had loan spells with Peterborough and Luton Town before joining Shrewsbury Town in 2019.

He is the Dee’s second signing of the day following the loan signing of Tottenham starlet Malachi Fagan-Walcott until the end of the season.

Cummings has signed an 18 month deal and will wear the number 35 shirt at Dens Park.
