Jason Bateman filmed his appearance at the 2021 Golden Globes from Jennifer Aniston’s house.

Bateman was nominated for an award for best TV drama performance for his turn as Martin Bryke in Netflix’s crime drama Ozark, but ultimately lost to The Crown’s Josh O’Connor.

After the ceremony, Aniston revealed on Instagram that Bateman and his two daughters had been in her home during the event.

“Bateman came over and brought the Golden Globes with him,” wrote the Friends star.

She also posted a video taken from near the beginning of the broadcast, when Globes co-host Amy Poehler is speaking.

“They’re in the same city, aren’t they?” Bateman can be heard asking, to which Aniston responds: “Focus, focus.”

Poehler hosted the ceremony alongside longtime collaborator Tina Fey, with Poehler filming in Los Angeles and Fey filming in New York.

On the night, Bateman lost in his category to O’Connor, who also beat fellow nominees Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Al Pacino (Hunters) and Matthew Rhys (Perry Mason).
