Jarvis Landry opts for hip surgery, expects full recovery by 2020 kickoff

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry announced he did have surgery on his hip after all. In an Instagram post, Landry revealed he had surgery to fix his injured hip on Feb. 4th in Minneapolis.

In the post, Landry’s doctor talked about the extent of the injury and the procedure. He noted Landry has “a really good looking hip joint”. The doctor also showed x-rays of the before-and-after with the surgery that highlights exactly what got fixed.

Landry battled through the injury all season, playing through the pain well enough to earn a Pro Bowl berth. It was at the Pro Bowl where Landry realized the pain was too much, and he opted to have the surgery despite previously stating he would eschew any procedure.

A Browns spokesman later added that the team expects Landry to be fully recovered by the start of the 2020 season and that the veteran wideout could be back for training camp in July. That meshes with the rehab plan and comments from Landry’s post, too.
