Jarvis Landry did not attend the Browns voluntary workouts

After making a cursory appearance at the beginning of the week, Browns wideout Jarvis Landry left Cleveland and did not participate in this week’s voluntary minicamp.

The sessions were closed to the media so news of the attendance, or lack thereof, did not filter out until after the conclusion of the organized workouts.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Landry spent the time in Los Angeles for a previously scheduled commitment with Nike. His best friend and new teammate, Odell Beckham Jr., was also in L.A. for the same event.

The workouts were a bonus team activity for having a new head coach in Freddie Kitchens. Attendance was not, and could not be, required by the NFL and NFLPA agreement.
