Jarvis Landry at a loss for answers, ‘stung’ by OBJ departure

The Cleveland Browns have a lot of questions and not a lot of answers right now. The team with high expectations and, on paper, one of the best rosters in the NFL to start the season is 5 – 5 through Week 10.

The offense has sputtered, the defense has been inconsistent and they have lost to all the best teams on their schedule.

Very little, outside of the run game and Myles Garrett, has gone the way Cleveland expected in 2021.

The questions have piled up. We have covered many of them so far this season including many coming out of last week’s game.

Not only is the media at a loss for answers but Jarvis Landry also seems to lack answers to questions about the offensive struggles and his lack of production:

Landry, talking to the media at his second annual Jarvis Landry Thanksgiving food drive on Tuesday, spoke about his good friend Odell Beckham Jr’s departure from the team for the first time:

“It definitely was something that hurt. It stung. It still does.”

It is the last part, “It still does,” that really holds weight. Landry is still bothered by his friend’s departure while he struggles to have answers for the team’s offensive struggles.

While fans often want a simple answer (blaming Baker Mayfield, Kevin Stefanski, Joe Woods, etc), the reality is often far more complicated. All of the above, and more (including loads of injuries) are a part of the problem for Cleveland.

For 2021, answers will only come from within the team. For 2022, the makeup of the Browns could depend solely on how this season finishes up.

Landry and the rest of the team must find answers that are currently eluding them.
