Jarrod Bowen has proved Jurgen Klopp right and sent Mo Salah message

Jurgen Klopp is known to be an admirer of West Ham United's Jarrod Bowen, who continues to go from strength to strength.

The English winger has enjoyed a steady rise since moving to London from Hull City.

Now an established part of the Hammers' set up, Bowen scored a brace as David Moyes' side beat Norwich City to remain in the hunt for fourth on Wednesday night.

His performances continue to attract attention, with the Liverpool boss among those watching on.

The German spoke openly about the forward earlier this season - and Bowen has proved his admiration is well-placed with some fine performances in recent weeks.

“I like Bowen a lot," Klopp confessed, also praising the Hammer for his role in a goal as West Ham beat the Reds back in November.

"He made his way up from Hull and took not too long to show exactly what kind of player he can be in the Premier League. He made big steps."

Liverpool could yet be on the look out for a new winger should Mo Salah end up leaving Anfield.

The Egyptian, who has been on Merseyside since 2017, has become one of the world's leading players, especially over the past 12 months.

His contract continues to wind down which could yet back the Reds into a corner if he opts against penning an extension.

And Bowen recently highlighted the impact Salah has had on his game in a clear message that he hopes to one day emulate the Egyptian, whether that is at Anfield or elsewhere.

"I think Mo Salah is the perfect example," he told the Evening Standard.

"The goals he scores and assists he gets, the impact he has on games and consistently doing it every season since he joined Liverpool.

"He is definitely one that I look at and I think he is one of the best players in the world at the moment.

"As a player you always want to look at people in a similar position to yours and learn from them."

Salah has scored over 20 times already this term.

However, the spotlight remains on his future with the winger away at AFCON on international duty.

He has addressed the speculation regarding his future insisting he is not making "crazy" demands to the Liverpool hierarchy.

"I want to stay, but it's not in my hands. It's in their hands," Salah told GQ. "They know what I want. I'm not asking for crazy stuff."

"The thing is, when you ask for something, and they show you they can give you something [they should] because they appreciate what you did for the club.

"I've been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It's in their hands."
