Jarrell Miller responds to Anthony Joshua's defeat by Andy Ruiz Jr

Jarrell Miller has refused to criticise Anthony Joshua after his shock defeat by Andy Ruiz Jr.

Miller was due to challenge Joshua at Madison Square Garden last weekend but tested positive for three banned substances two months out.

He was replaced by Ruiz Jr who knocked Joshua down four times en-route to a seventh-round stoppage.

And although Miller is no fan of his rival, he resisted the urge to lay in him.

"Personally I still don’t like AJ but I am not going to sit here and point the finger at him," he told iFL TV .

"Listen I went wrong, I am going to deal with it and I will be back.

"I am not going to make no excuses for Anthony Joshua. He is the landlord, he knows how the sport goes.

"He lost one and if he is the champion that everybody thinks he is he will be back. Anything can happen and that’s part of the game.

"I am not going to kick him while he’s down, even though he said some grimy stuff about me.

"He said some good stuff here and there but it is boxing."

Miller also attempted to explain how he came to test positive for GW1516, HGH and EPO.

"On the GW1516, I paid $1,000 to get my product tested because I know for a fact I have not taken any ingredient that would give me any advantage," he added.

"I was the one that pushed for the third drugs test which came out with the EPO and HGH.

"Going back to figure out when I was guided to a stem-cell treatment for my elbow, which has EPO in it, that’s what caused the red flag to go up on the third drugs test."
