Jarrad Davis is the lowest-rated LB in the NFL per PFF

Anyone who has watched the Detroit Lions play defense this season can plainly see linebacker Jarrad Davis is struggling. The third-year LB misses tackles, misreads assignments and gets beaten in coverage far too often for comfort.

Now there is quantifiable evidence that Davis is, in fact, the worst linebacker in the NFL in 2019. That’s the verdict through Week 9 according to Pro Football Focus. Davis sits dead last in their player grades for any linebacker who has played the minimum number of snaps.

The latest update of PFF’s grades for every player on every snap places Davis 90th of 90 linebackers. His run defense sits at No. 86, with his coverage grade two spots lower at 88. The tackling grade is 81st.

It’s a disappointing showing for the team’s first-round pick from Florida in 2017. The good news? Davis can only go up from here.
