Free agency begins on Wednesday, but the Los Angeles Rams got a headstart on the rest of the league a few days prior. The team has signed veteran safety Eric Weddle to a two-year deal after he was released by the Baltimore Ravens this week.
Because he was released and not someone whose contract was set to expire, he could sign with a team at any time. The Rams pounced on the opportunity to bring him back to California, beating out the 10 other teams that were reportedly interested.
Needless to say, Jared Goff is a fan of the move, as is Cooper Kupp. The two reacted to the news on Twitter.
Weddle is viewed as one of the most well-respected players in the league, so it comes as no surprise that the overwhelming response to the news was positive.
