The Los Angeles Lakers may get some additional reinforcements when they arrive in China, where they will spend the next week before playing a two-game set against the Brooklyn Nets later in the week. Former Nets forward and current Laker Jared Dudley did not suit up for Saturday night’s preseason opener, but he did indicate that a return wasn’t too far off.
Responding to a fan on twitter, Dudley said that he felt good and that he would be back on the court soon.
The Lakers obviously don’t need Dudley to rush back, considering it’s the second week of October and the season is still a few weeks away. Also, Dudley doesn’t project to play a ton when the Lakers are at full strength as the Lakers have plenty of forwards on their roster. However, if Kyle Kuzma’s stress reaction lingers into the beginning of the regular season, we could see quite a bit of Dudley earlier than expected.
