Japanese side could have provided Newcastle United a Yoshinori Muto solution

Newcastle United could have found a solution for Yoshinori Muto after reports in Japan suggested he is due to sign for Vissel Kobe.

Muto had been linked with a move to Greece with Aris Salonika but the those talks dried up.

With Newcastle telling Muto he is not part of the plans, as the club try to trim the wage bill, the Magpies have tried to agree a settlement on his £54,000 per week wages.

Scottish Premiership side Celtic have agreed a deal for Kyogo Furuhashi which would pave the way for Vissel Kobe to get Muto.

The 29-year-old’s farewell appearance looks to have been at York City as he failed to score in a 1-0 defeat.

Newcastle paid £9.5million for his services in 2018 from Mainz 05.

Muto has scored just once in the Premier League for Newcastle.
