
Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said Friday at the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs that about 3,300 Japanese nationals in more than 60 countries are unable to return to Japan because international flights have been disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Of them, about 400 have yet to decide how to get home.
"I want to facilitate their return as soon as possible," Motegi said. He also indicated that there would be coordination with other nations imminently to arrange chartered flights for this purpose.
