
Resona Bank Ltd., a major Japanese bank has placed big stuffed plush versions of Resonya, the bank's mascot character on sofas in the customer's waiting area at some of its Tokyo branches and beyond in order to keep customers sitting at a distance from each other as a measure to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
The idea of a branch employee in Kanagawa Prefecture, Resonya has been seated since April 8, after the government declared the state of emergency, according to Resona Holdings Inc.'s public relations manager. Resonya not only prevents customers crowding, but is also gaining popularity for being "cute" and offering customers "peace of mind."
