THE Japanese ambassador to the UK is set to visit Scotland next week.
Hiroshi Suzuki announced the visit in a video on social media, where he posed with a miniature set of bagpipes and a book of poetry by Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns.
The diplomat has not visited Scotland yet, with the previous Japanese ambassador – Hajime Hayashi – meeting with First Minister John Swinney in September last year.
Announcing his next visit, Suzuki said he was "much looking forward to visiting Scotland".

Suzuki has gained popularity on social media for sharing enthusiastic updates on his travels and work as ambassador, often featuring a toy of Paddington Bear. He has gathered more than 120,000 followers on Twitter/X alone.
The visit has been welcomed by social media users who praised the "wonderful man", as one person said: "Still convinced this man loves the UK more than any of its leaders in the past decade or so, at least."
Another commented: "Right, who’s up for forming a welcome committee for this absolute GOAT?"
And another said: "Is he going to do Haggis? I live vicariously through this gem of a human being."
