Japan unveiled its Olympic team uniforms on Wednesday, 100 days before the start of the Games. The uniforms' vivid color "sunrise red" evokes the strength of the rising sun and will be worn by athletes competing in seven sports including track and field, swimming, baseball and men's volleyball.

The unveiling of the uniforms, which were provided by Kobe-based major sporting goods company and Games sponsor ASICS Corp., was held in Koto Ward, Tokyo, and attended by candidates for the national teams. Masahiro Yanagida, a 28-year-old volleyball player for the Suntory Sunbirds, said wearing the uniform "makes me feel ready to compete for my country."
