Japan's Emperor and Empress mark 60 years together at children's park built to honor their wedding

The Emperor and Empress are greeted by children at Kodomo no Kuni, a nature park for children and families in Aoba Ward, Yokohama, on Friday. The Imperial couple visited the park as part of the commemoration of their 60th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. The facility opened in May 1965 with gifts of money sent from people all over the country to celebrate the Imperial wedding. After arriving at the park before 11 a.m., the Emperor and Empress rode in the garden's bus that looks like a steam train. They waved to visitors with smiles on their faces and looked around the approximately 960,000-square-meter park.
