Japan railroad tunnels get a high-tech checkup from the InfraDoctor

A Tokyu Railways tunnel in Kawasaki gets a checkup from the InfraDoctor. Equipped with laser scanners and 8K cameras, the system collects images and location data to efficiently find cracks, deformations and other parts that require repair. According to the railway, the technology is expected to significantly reduce the time and cost involved in the inspections that were formerly conducted by eye. Rolled out in September, the rig is scheduled to run most of Tokyu's lines after passenger train service has ended for the night.
