Japan prime minister Suga congratulates Biden

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga took to Twitter on Sunday morning to congratulate Joe Biden on his victory in the U.S. presidential election.

After it was reported that Biden had beaten incumbent Donald Trump in the election, Suga posted on Twitter, "Warm congratulations to Joe Biden" in both Japanese and English.

"I look forward to working with you to further strengthen the Japan-US Alliance and ensure peace, freedom, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond," Suga wrote.
