Japan falls to Britain in wheelchair rugby semifinal

Japan failed to advance to the Paralympic wheelchair rugby final for the first time, after a 55-49 loss in the semifinal match against Britain at Yoyogi National Stadium on Saturday.

Japan will face Australia on Sunday in the bronze-medal match.

Japan briefly took the lead in the first period, but after a series of passing errors and penalties led to missed scoring chances, Britain came from behind with fast attacks and steadily extended their lead.
