Japan expects elderly COVID-19 vaccination to end on schedule in July

All 1,741 local governments expect to finish the COVID-19 vaccination process for the elderly by the end of July, according to a soon-to-be released central government survey.

Vaccination for the elderly started in April.

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga earlier expressed his hope that vaccination for the elderly who wish to be inoculated will be completed by the end of July.

In an earlier survey, only about 1,000 local governments said they expected to finish the vaccination process by that time.
