Listen, we all privately thirst after famous people —whether it’s athletes or actors or musicians or social media influencers or whatever—and sometimes some of us even take that thirst and declare it publicly.
Very few of us though, are bold enough to announce are celebrity crushes to about 1 million people on Instagram, like actress January Jones. Late Thursday night, the actress, best known for her role as Betty Draper in Mad Men, got publicly thirsty for the Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard.
In her Insta story, Jones posted two video clips of Leonard, both taken after the Clips defeated the Dallas Mavericks 126-111 and Leonard put up 29 points, with a bunch of heart eyes emojis.
There’s no mistaking the (probably) tongue in cheek intent here. The heart eyes. The telephone emoji. The blatant “future boyfriend??” are all things that can be passed off as humor, but come on, there’s a kernel of truth in every joke. She probably heard that infamous laugh and thought, yes, he is a fun guy!.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like Jones is aware that Leonard is already in a loving and committed relationship with his longtime partner, Kishele Shipley, with whom he has two children.
I mean, I’m all for public thirst but next time Jones might want to do some quick Googling.
