Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic meet in today’s second Wimbledon men’s singles semi-final.
The pair will face off on Centre Court after Arthur Fery, the British wildcard, takes on Alexander Zverev first up.
Sinner, the world No1, is aiming to defend the maiden grass-court title that he claimed against Carlos Alcaraz last year, usurping the Spaniard who had won the last two Championships on the bounce.
Now, in the world No2’s absence through injury, it has meant that Djokovic, 39, will face the defending champion in the last four, as the veteran eyes a record-equalling eighth crown at the all England Club.
Such a feat would take him level with the great Roger Federer, whose record of most men’s matches won at the Championships was eclipsed by the Serb after he beat Roman Safiullin in the fourth round.
Both men have been dealt scares en route to the semi-finals, with Sinner taken the distance by Djokovic’s compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic on day one, and Djokovic dropping a set to every opponent of his bar Stefanos Tsitsipas in round two.
The two men have played each other 11 times so far, with Sinner edging the head-to-head 6-5.
Djokovic came out on top in their most recent meeting in the semi-finals of the Australian Open, coming through in a five-set thriller before losing to Alcaraz in the final.
The pair have played each other three times on the south London grass, with Sinner emerging victorious at this stage last year, progressing in straight sets.
Djokovic had won the other two encounters, in the quarter-final and semi-final of 2022 and 2023 respectively.
The Serb is eyeing a first major title since the 2023 US Open, which took him to 24 Grand Slam crowns in his career.
What time is Sinner vs Djokovic?
Arthur Fery will face Alexander Zverev in the first match of the day on Centre Court, with Sinner and Djokovic set to follow upon its conclusion.
That match is due to open play at 1.30pm BST. A rough estimate for a Sinner vs Djokovic start time at this stage would be around 4pm, but it obviously all depends on what happens in Fery vs Zverev.
