Janice Dickson says her chin was left 'gashed open' after horror I'm A Celeb fall

Janice Dickinson's jungle journey came to an abrupt end when she was rushed to hospital with head injuries after an accident during filming for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here All Stars.

Former supermodel Janice, 68, suffered a nasty fall and was rushed to hospital after the emergency took place on set.

The I'm A Celebrity legend fractured her skull and was subsequently forced to quit the show.

Janice tripped over a cable in the dark in South Africa’s Kruger National Park and hit her head in a tumble which left her chin 'gashed open' and blood all over her face.

Opening up about the brutal accident for the very first time, Janice revealed that it all happened in the blink of an eye when she attempted to use the camp toilet in the pitch dark of the night.

After the fall, Janice made a hospital dash via ambulance and was subsequently forced to pull out of the series in South Africa.

She was found with blood gushing from a head wound having suffered a concussion, a black eye, bruised cheeks, a split lip and fractures to her hands.

"I walked a couple of steps and tripped, flying flat on my face – hair all over my forehead, my nose was bloody and my whole chin was gashed open. Blood was gushing from all these areas, and there was dirt and stones embedded in my face from the fall," Janice recalled.

"All I could feel was an intense head pain – from one to ten it was about a nine – and I was just lying there, moaning. It was a freak accident that happened so quickly."

After her campmate pals, Fatima Whitbread and Phil Tufnell helped her up from the ground and back onto her bed, a medic was called to the scene and was shocked by Janice's appearance.

"They gave me pain relief, put me on a stretcher and four men galloped me out along the road in the middle of the night in the cold air, two feet above the ground. We reached an ambulance and the paramedics put a compress on my forehead and my chin. It was bad," Janice told The Sun.

Janice added that she was 'in agony' after the fall, but was back to herself a couple of days later.

The former supermodel is set to leave the South African series on Monday night.

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa continues at 9pm on Sunday on ITV1 and ITVX.
