It's Burn's Night in lockdown and going round to your mate's house for a traditional haggis dinner might be off the cards tonight, but luckily Scottish comedian Janey Godley is to host an exciting virtual burns supper event tonight to make up for it.
Janey Godley has been keeping people's spirits up during the pandemic with her hilarious voiceovers of Nicola Sturgeon's daily coronavirus briefings.
She even appeared alongside Nicola Sturgeon last year to take part in a comedy skit for the STV children appeal, where the First Minister can be heard saying Godley's famous punchline "Frank get the door!" as she takes part in a mock coronavirus briefing.
Tonight she will host Big Burns Supper 2021 which will take place via Facebook and YouTube alongside a star studded cast.
Scots can look forward to performances from KT Tunstall, Skerryvore, Donovan, Camille O'Sullivan, Dougie MacLean, Tidelines, Manran, Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5, Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Robert Softly Gale, Amy Conachan, Grant Dinwoodie, Ray Bradshaw and LOKA & Bruna.
Big Burns Supper 2021 said: "Janey Godley will host our Burns Night party on the 25th January 2021 which will be streamed at 7pm from our Facebook and YouTube channels.
"Multi-award-winning Scottish comedienne, playwright, award-winning blogger, best-selling author and former Scotsman n ewspaper columnist Janey Godley has performed her comedy shows and one-woman play around the world, including off-Broadway in New York.
"She is a regular on BBC Radio 4’s Just a Minute."
