Scots comedian Janey Godley has thanked fans for their outpouring support and revealed she has been discharged from hospital after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Janey shared her diagnosis on social media on Friday and has since confirmed she is at home before starting treatment.
The 60-year-old comic was forced to cancel the last two shows of her tour in Edinburgh and Musselburgh this weekend.
Janey is expected to start treatment on Wednesday and has thanked everyone sending her their well wishes, as well as medics who have been treating her.
Posting on Twitter with a photograph of her tucked up in bed Janey wrote: "I am home before treatment starts next Wednesday, I want to thank everyone and I mean EVERYONE who has sent me good wishes.
"This is some love going out to everyone faced with a terrifying diagnosis- can’t thank the NHS in Glasgow enough for their kindness."
Nicola Sturgeon was among those sending her thoughts and strength to Janey after she revealed she had cancer.
It came after Godley uploaded an emotional video on Twitter, telling followers how she had 'cried and cried' over the news.
She said: "I'm really sorry I can't make the Musselburgh and Edinburgh shows this weekend, it's the very last dates of the tour and the tour has been so brilliant and so well attended and successful.
"Unfortunately while I was doing the tour I, unbeknownst to me, had ovarian cancer.
"I want to thank everyone for all their support and all their help and for coming out and sharing so much laughter with me.
"Onto the next step of the journey, and what is that journey?
"I don't know if I'm going to be one of these people who battle bravely and fight every step.
"I don't know, that doesn't feel how I've been the last day where I've done nothing but cry and cry and cry.
"But I'm going to use science, and technology and I'm going to try and cope with this next step of my journey."
Godley urged anyone with symptoms to have themselves checked out.
